The American people have spoken, and they want a compromise! According to the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll, 56-percent of US citizens support a budget plan that mixes spending cuts with tax increases. This pretty much falls in line with what the President has been asking for. And fair or not, 31-percent of respondents feel the Republicans are responsible for the current stalemate.

Mexican Soldiers Cross Border Into Texas
Nearly three-dozen uniformed Mexican soldiers crossed the border into southern Texas on Tuesday – without authorization. The feds have kept a lid on the episode but what we know is that there were no injuries and no gunfire exchanged. After border guards caught up with the 33 soldiers, it was determined to be inadvertent and they were sent back to Mexico. Oops!

US Wealth Gap Widest On Record
New Census data shows that the financial gap between whites and other ethnic groups in the US is the widest it’s been since records began! On average, whites have twenty times the net worth of blacks, and eighteen times that of Hispanics. Experts blame the disparity on the country’s uneven economic recovery since the recession.

UK Tells Gaddafi Diplomats To Get Out
The UK has officially kicked out Libyan diplomats loyal to Muammar Gaddafi. Foreign Secretary William Hague announced that they were no longer recognizing the Gaddafi regime – as far as they’re concerned, the rebels are in charge. He says that the National Transitional Council are committed to a more democratic and open Libya.

Israel May Nix Agreements With Palestine Over UN Bid
Israel says they might scrap the Oslo accords over Palestine’s plan to seek membership in the United Nations. The Oslo accords – signed in 1993 – created the Palestinian authority, and were the framework for negotiations and relations between the two sides. Currently, Palestine is seeking membership for a state that has borders that pre-date the 1967 Six Day War.

Piers Morgan Accused In Phone Hacking Scandal
Former Daily Mirror reporter James Hipwell has been quoted claiming that voicemail hacking was a common practice while current CNN prime-time host Piers Morgan was editor of the paper. He claims the paper targeted the voicemails of celebrities such as the Spice Girls and soccer manager Sven-Goran Erikkson. For his part Morgan has vehemently denied the allegations.

Reports have surfaced alleging that 30 accused war criminals are hiding in Canada. The names and nationalities of the wanted are listed on the website of the Border Services Agency. They’ve set up a hotline for citizens to call with information. The accused come from diverse locations, including Afghanistan, Sudan, and El Salvador.

The cast of Entourage appeared on the Today show on Tuesday and announced some exciting news. Not only will the show be returning to its old light-hearted self after getting real in Season 7, but Season 8 won’t be the final act. The cast revealed that plans for an Entourage movie are in the works.

A US Senator is calling for an investigation into allegations that journalists hacked phones in America. Democratic Senator Jay Rockefeller is responding to rumors that staffers at Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation may have hacked American targets, including victims of the 9-11 attacks. Rockefeller didn’t provide any proof but warned of quote “serious consequences” if it happened.

The fallout of the News of the World phone-hacking scandal continued with the arrest of former editor Andy Coulson. He left the paper in 2007, amid a scandal involving a staffer hacking into the voicemails of aides to the Royal Family. That staffer, Clive Goodman, was jailed for 4 months, but has now been arrested again on corruption charges relating to the scandal.

Warren Buffett is one of the richest men in the world and he’s also one of the most generous. Buffett has donated another $1.78 BILLION to charity, with the majority going to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. At market close on Wednesday, Buffet gave away 23.3 million shares in his investment company Berkshire Hathaway.

New findings from the Nielsen Company could signal trouble for TV networks. It turns out that people who spend more time watching video online spend LESS time in front of the TV. Networks have been posting shows online in hopes of drawing online viewers to television, where the vast majority of advertising revenue is made.

A statue of Ronald Reagan has been erected outside of the US embassy in London. Former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice and British Foreign Secretary William Hague were on hand at the ceremony in Grosvenor Square. Hague said that Reagan was quote “without question a great American hero; one of America’s finest sons, and a giant of 20th-century history” end quote.

Maria Shriver has officially filed for divorce from her cheating husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Just two months after the story broke that Arnold fathered a son with household staffer Mildred Patti Bayna, Maria filed the papers citing “irreconcilable differences.” She’s seeking custody of the couple’s two minor children and it’s likely she’ll walk away with half of their $400 million dollar estate.
